Balderas Tamale Factory in Houston

Love the tamales here.. The tamale dinner has tamales, refried beans and rice. Enough food to have some left over to take home. We always order an extra dozen or two to take with us for later. Language barrier is the only downside we have found, but it isn't horrible as we have encountered. Always a 5 star experience.

The food is FRESH and fast. You get exactly what's on the menu nothing more or less. It's all good!

The lines are HUGE and the tacos are good, but i can eat 1 before getting full... i can usually eat like 3 at other places.

Very happy with breakfast tacos if they keep prices this good ill never stop coming! I come first thing in the morning and the lady up front who always takes my order is so sweet I left this review because of her. Tacos have that warm home cooked feel and most importantly taste. My baby dog could smell them from all the way outside in the car!

Always my 1st choice for breakfast tacos! The best ever. And the tamales...superb. The salsa is to die for!

Their tamales are excellent. Their breakfast tacos are good as well but they use processed cheese, if they would switch to cheddar, Monterey Jack or some other "real" cheese it would be even better.

Quick and easy. Good food. They seem to get pretty busy for lunch so come early.

Food is great, price is okay. Breakfast tacos and tamales are the best in town. Self serve salsa is good, but the little cups are annoying, and drink cups are annoying too (way too small, lots of extra trips)

The food is excellent. Have plenty of time to enjoy conversation for the drinks because the service is not quick. However the food is so worth it. I have learned to call in my order and get it to go so that I do not get irritated by the extremely long wait. Also none of their tamales are gluten free actually nothing on the menu is gluten free.Thanks for your response. It's amazing to learn that in fact your tamales are gluten free. Uts unfortunate your wait staff informed my entire party of 8 that there was nothing gluten free. As a tamale lover I would suggest training your wait staff how to communicate correctly with your customers. There is a breakdown in communication. It does make me wonder if the breakdown in comms impacts the cross contamination or ingredients used supporting the advice I received from your wait staff.

My favorite place to go! So delicious. I’m constantly getting their sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting delicious tasting food and great customer service! Thank you Balderas!

Good customer service, tamales weren't what l expected mostly masa! Couldn't even see the meat :(

Best tamales I've had since my grandma passed away. She was the best. These are good.

The staff was very friendly. Service for takeout is fast. Spicy pork tamales is what I typically order. Salsa is at the salsa bar which you have to grab yourself.

Really enjoyed lunch here..Very Clean banós. Pork Tamales were served hot and with plenty of sauce and rice and beans. Even substituted white cheese with no issue. Service was fast and friendly. Thank you.

Had the spicy pork tamales they were ok tacos real greasy and a waiter was really really rude

We had a beef enchilada plate and also tried chicken and beef tamales... it was all delicious!!! I would definitely eat there again, next time I'm going to try their spicy tamales.

I go to Balderas very often and every thing I've tried is good. I've tried their food plates, tamales, and breakfast tacos which can be ordered at anytime during the day. Everything is reasonably priced. Nice place to try.

Purchased a dozen beef tamales and a dozen pork for Christmas. Very good tamales just a little hot for my taste.

Been coming here since 2010, some of my favorite breakfast tacos in town. Picadillo and Carne Guisada just as good as it was a decade ago.

Baldera's food is always fresh and really good and tasty. The workers are polite, friendly and accomodating. The place is always clean and the price of food is reasonable.

This was our go to place for breakfast tacos and tamales. Always enjoyed going here and placing our special orders for holidays. Recently the orders have been taking a long time to get to table and alot of mistakes. Last time I ordered bacon egg and cheese tacos and got just plain egg tacos. When I took them back they said they would remake them. Only for them to bring me cheese and bacon to add to my cold tacos. They remade them but the facial expressions and actions seemed like like it was such a hassle to remake. Its not the same and I doubt I will return.

It's right around the corner, family and budget friendly. This place is quiet and very clean. Their beans are pretty good, and the food is as well.

Menudo is really good and flavorful! Carne Guisada tacos tasty too. They sell barbacoa by the pound also. Give them a try.

Been going to this place for at least 7 years, best tamales in North West Houston hands down. Pork tamales are the best. Their rice and beans are delicious. Fresh hand made tortillas made while you wait for your food. Oh and their barbacoa plates on weekends are awesome!

I have been going to this place for years. The Tamales are some of the best in Texas. The rest of the menu is great and the service has always been quick and friendly.Great to go by yourself or with a large groups.Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Great food every time! Wish i could say the same about the water. H20 out of the fountain taste and smells like caca. Wish you guys would fix that. Bring your own water to avoid! Its what we do now😏

The food is great but you will have to wait, from the order taking to the kitchen, even if you only order tamales that are already done you still have to wait. They should have a tamales to go line that could speed things up.

Ordered a chorizo and a fajita taco. The chorizo taco had egg,bean and cheese, it was a little messy but it didn’t disappoint and I poured the green salsa which was okay. The fajita taco had great vegetables but the meat was disappointing and that’s why I took of a star off. The meat on the fajita was not good it felt like I was chewing gum the entire time. I will definitely be back and try other items. They do have an area where you can take salsa to go with cilantro,onion,jalapeño and salsas. I would like to try a spicier salsa cause the red salsa has more flavor but not spicy either. The lady at the register was so nice.

I had lunch at Balderas and had a good time. The chips and queso was the best request! The enchiladas and the spicy pork tamales were also very tasty. Next time I want to try the breakfast tacos.

Pick up a few dozens pork, Hot Pork, Hot Beef. The hot was not too spicy but just right! (I like hot food tho) Tamales where Very good. I took them to my grandparents they loved them too. The green salsa full of flavor(a little spicy). The red salsa was traditional (not spicy/warm).. Nice place inside. It was not my first time here or my last.. I will be back. If your thinking of trying this place. DO IT! You won't be disappointed...

I have been to this location several times in 1 week. Cash register very rude and disrespectful. Management need to have a talk with staff about professionalism.

Food is good and reasonably priced. Coffee is way not good. Service is good!

I have gone 2 times now. The 1st time it took them 45min to give me 3 tacos. After talking to Mngr, they gave me a couple extra tacos for thd wait. The 2nd time it was during lunch time. The place was closed without explanation.

This is our default "go to" favorite Mexican food place! Reasonably priced excellent food for breakfast and lunch only! The chips and queso are the best we have had anywhere! Tamales are on the small size but very tasty! Breakfast tacos are excellent!

The Mexican Plate is my favorite meal. You get a taco, that you almost have to eat with a fork because when you bite into it the first time it is so crisp it shatters, and an enchilada and tamale covered in a tasty gravy sauce. The tamale is the best anywhere in Houston. Add all this with rice, beans and a two flour tortillas and you have a great lunch.

Tamales! Hot pork and hot beef were definitely on point! Reheat them on a skillet and not the microwave. You will thank me later.

This was my first time visiting restaurant everything was nice and clean but service was very slow, when it was my turn to order the cashier became very snappy rushing me to place my order the menu had all the prices marked out and no one had any idea what the price of anything was.so I ordered 3 tacos and a enchilada plate that came to $24.53 my tacos were very greasy and enchiladas were cold.l will not be back..

Order at the window, delivered to the table. Very clean. The staff is very friendly.Had the migs and they were fantastico. Ordered a 1/2 day pork tamales for home. The were so good that I should have bought a dozen. I will do that next visit. I raved about so much that I promised my wife to take her next week.

1st time giving it a try today. Was awesome and extremely quick service. Had my food in less than 10 Min.
